University of Foreign Language Studies, The University of Danang (UD-UFLS), is one of the member institutions of The University of Danang. Established in 1985 and officially re-established under Decision No. 709/QĐ-TTg issued by the Vietnamese Government on August 26, 2002, the University has continuously affirmed its role as a leading center for foreign language education and research in the Central and Highlands region.
UD-UFLS is dedicated to training high-quality foreign language teachers and professionals, providing professional development for organizations and enterprises, conducting advanced research in linguistics, languages, cultures, and civilizations, and contributing to national development and international integration. The University places particular emphasis on promoting socio-economic advancement in the Central and Highlands region while strengthening international cooperation and global academic exchange. With a vision to become a center of excellence in language, culture, social sciences, and humanities both regionally and globally, UD-UFLS currently serves more than 7,000 students and is supported by over 300 faculty and staff members. The University offers 17 undergraduate programs with 30 specializations, 4 master’s programs, 3 doctoral programs, and 2 international joint master’s programs.
UD-UFLS has established itself as a dynamic academic hub for international collaboration and scholarly exchange. The University has successfully hosted numerous prestigious international conferences and forums, including GLoCALL 2019, VietTESOL 2020, AsiaCALL 2023, SEAAIR 2024, BOLT, and many other international academic events. These events have attracted leading scholars, researchers, and practitioners from across the region and around the world, providing vibrant platforms for academic dialogue, innovation, and knowledge sharing in languages, culture, social sciences, and humanities. In addition, UD-UFLS maintains extensive partnerships with universities, research institutions, and organizations worldwide, fostering student and staff mobility, joint research initiatives, and sustainable international academic cooperation. Through these activities, the University continues to enhance its global engagement and academic standing.
