Description
Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL) has become an integral part of modern language education. This mixed-methods study examined the perceptions of third-year English-major students at the University of Foreign Languages, Hue University, regarding the use of mobile devices for autonomous English vocabulary learning. Data were collected from 202 valid questionnaires and eight interviews. The findings reveal that MALL offers notable benefits, including flexibility, improved pronunciation, better vocabulary retention, and increased learning motivation. However, challenges such as social media distractions, limited self-discipline, and the cost of paid applications remain. The study highlights the need for collaboration among learners, instructors, and application developers to enhance vocabulary self-learning through effective guidance and improved digital learning platforms.
