Description
Professional development for English teachers is a long journey with multiple turns. One of the most effective professional learning is being an active member of a community of practice and involved in academic events. However, most teachers are overwhelmed with new ideas and struggle to turn this professional learning into sustainable practices. This practice-oriented oral presentation addresses this gap by sharing a structured, collaborative framework based on Guskey’s professional development evaluation categories by four experienced academics and education managers. The presenters share their own professional development journey and how to take actions from these experiences. The first part will provide an overview of some professional learning opportunities available to Vietnamese language teachers and educators. The second part is a narrative of each presenter about initiatives they have developed from their profession learning to address current issues of EMI education, technology application and teacher development. Attendees will gain actionable strategies for organizing collaborative post-conference initiatives in their own community and aligning research insights with their local practices.
