Description
Continuous professional development is vital for educators, yet independent self-study often leads to procrastination and limited practical application. Grounded in Social Constructivist theory and the concept of Communities of Practice, this presentation introduces a Collaborative Pedagogical Growth Framework designed to enhance teaching practices and foster a sustainable community of practice among ELT professionals. The framework integrates American English webinars with digital synthesis tools and collaborative platforms to streamline knowledge acquisition. Implemented by a dedicated group of educators, the cyclical process involves watching targeted webinar sessions, synthesizing pedagogical strategies into shared digital boards, and selecting highly practical, zero-preparation ideas for immediate classroom trial. Following implementation, teachers engage in structured reflection to adapt these methods to their specific local contexts before disseminating the findings to wider school networks. Observations from this initiative reveal dual benefits: educators significantly improve their pedagogical repertoire and classroom engagement while simultaneously enhancing their professional linguistic competence and deepening their pedagogical foundation. Participants will gain practical insights into replicating this disciplined, peer-supported model to overcome the isolation of self-directed learning. By prioritizing immediate application and collaborative reflection, this framework provides a scalable solution for continuous teacher development, aligning with the transition towards sustainable ESL education.
