Description
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming educational practices and creating new opportunities for innovation in English language teaching and learning. However, many educators still use AI primarily for isolated tasks rather than as an integrated system that supports teaching, assessment, content creation, and professional development. This paper explores practical approaches to optimizing AI use in English language education through the adoption of Agentic AI thinking, structured workflows, and customized AI skills.
Drawing on professional development experiences and classroom applications, the study examines how teachers can leverage AI-powered tools to design lesson plans, generate teaching materials, create presentations, develop assessments, provide student feedback, and produce multimedia learning resources. The paper also highlights the role of customized AI skills and workflow-based practices in enhancing efficiency, consistency, and personalization in instructional design.
Findings indicate that a systematic approach to AI integration can significantly reduce teachers’ workload, improve the quality of digital learning resources, and support more engaging and learner-centered English instruction. Furthermore, AI enables teachers to focus more on pedagogical decision-making while automating routine and time-consuming tasks.
The paper concludes that optimizing AI use requires not only technological knowledge but also strategic planning, workflow design, and continuous professional learning. Practical recommendations are provided to help English language teachers effectively integrate AI into their daily practice and foster innovation in teaching and learning.
