Description

This study investigates the role of Project-Based Learning (PBL) in promoting career-oriented professional development among undergraduate students majoring in Vietnamese Studies at a Vietnamese university. The research explores how project-based activities contribute to the development of English communicative competence and employability skills in higher education contexts. The study was conducted through collaborative projects in which students produced English video presentations introducing local cultural and historical destinations. Data were collected from classroom observations, questionnaires, students’ reflections, and project products. The findings reveal that PBL significantly enhanced students’ presentation skills, communication competence, teamwork, self-confidence, and cultural interpretation abilities. Moreover, the projects created authentic learning experiences that connected language learning with potential career pathways in tourism, cultural communication, and international cooperation. The study concludes that integrating career-oriented PBL into English language instruction can effectively support both linguistic development and professional readiness among university students.
