Description

This practical workshop provides a strategic roadmap for educators looking to design, execute, and sustain intensive English language & capacity building initiatives as Vietnam transitions toward its 2035 ESL goals. Drawing on the presenter’s experience leading high-impact teacher training workshops, student leadership initiatives, and textbook creation projects through international specialist assignments and local public diplomacy grant programs, this session breaks down the lifecycle of successful educational programming.

The first half of the workshop goes in depth on past programs implemented across Pakistan, Egypt, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The presenter will share pedagogical outcomes, systemic impacts on teacher professional development, and the distinct operational challenges faced when running intensive initiatives in resource-variable environments. Rather than viewing the conclusion of traditional international funding cycles as an endpoint, this session reframes the changing landscape as an opportunity for local innovation, adaptation, and self-sufficiency.

The second half shifts to forward-looking, actionable strategy. Participants will explore alternative regional funding avenues, corporate social responsibility partnerships, and institutional collaborations capable of sustaining these high-impact models. Through a collaborative blueprinting activity, attendees will work in teams to identify local stakeholder resources and map out potential cross-institutional networks for future teacher training or student initiatives.

Ultimately, this workshop aims to bring together proactive educators, school leaders, and consultants to form collaborative communities of practice. By the end of the session, participants will leave with a concrete framework for developing their own localized programs and a network of potential partners ready to advance their communities and Vietnam's goals.
