Description
The integration of technology into English language teaching has created new opportunities for learners to develop language skills in more flexible and engaging ways. This paper explores the use of the FLYER application as a supplementary tool for teaching and learning English among Vietnamese high school students. The study focuses on how the application supports learner autonomy, increases learning motivation, and improves students’ English proficiency through mobile-assisted language learning. The research was conducted with a group of high school students who used FLYER alongside regular classroom instruction over a period of time. Data were collected through classroom observations, student feedback questionnaires, and informal interviews. The findings indicate that FLYER offers several educational benefits thanks to its interactive features, gamified activities, AI-supported feedback, and personalized learning pathways. Students showed greater interest and participation in learning activities, especially in vocabulary acquisition, pronunciation practice, listening comprehension, and grammar review. Furthermore, the application encouraged students to practice English independently outside the classroom, helping them build more consistent learning habits and confidence in language use. Teachers also benefited from the platform’s ability to assign tasks, monitor learning progress, and provide individualized support for students with different proficiency levels. Although some challenges related to internet access and students’ self-discipline were identified, the study concludes that FLYER can be an effective technological tool for enhancing English learning in the Vietnamese EFL context and promoting more learner-centered approaches in secondary education.
