Description
This study investigates the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and VideoScribe to improve bilingual teaching and learning capacity in Biology at high schools. A total of 320 students and 20 Biology teachers from several high schools in Gia Lai province participated in the research. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected through surveys, classroom observations, interviews, and experimental teaching methods. The results indicate that the use of AI and VideoScribe significantly enhances students’ understanding of biological concepts in both English and Vietnamese. These tools increase learners’ engagement, support visual and contextual learning, and help students acquire scientific terminology more effectively. Moreover, AI-assisted activities promote personalized learning, while VideoScribe animations make complex biological processes easier to comprehend. The findings also show that students become more confident in using English to discuss scientific topics and improve their critical thinking and collaborative skills. This study contributes to innovative bilingual education practices and provides practical implications for teachers aiming to integrate technology into Biology instruction. Ultimately, it highlights the potential of AI and digital tools in fostering more effective and engaging bilingual learning environments in high schools.
Biography
Nguyen Thi Ha is an experienced English teacher with 11 years of experience teaching at Nguyen Dieu High School in Gia Lai province. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English (2011) and a Master of Arts in the English Language (2014). Ha has received several accolades for her exemplary teaching skills, including the provincial good teacher award (2023). She has also received award certificates from the Director of Binh Dinh Department of Education and Training. Over the years, she has been recognized with numerous letters of commendation and certificates for her work as an educator.
Pham Thi My Le (MA in the English Language) is a teacher of English at Nguyen Thai Hoc N0. 1 high school, Gia Lai province. She got her Bachelor of English in 2004, and MA in the English Language in 2015. She has been working as a teacher at a high school in Gia Lai province since 2004. She was awarded the title of a provincial good teacher with the second prize in 2011. In 2013, She was nominated as a typical teacher of Binh Dinh Department Education and Training in the period of 2008-2013. She has carried out 6 initiatives ranked C-prize by Binh Dinh provincial initiative evaluation council, among which there is one initiative considered to have a great influence on the whole Binh Dinh education in 2018. She was conferred the title of a provincial emulation soldier in 2018. She has also received many letters of commendation and award certificates from the Chairman of Binh Dinh Province and the Director of Binh Dinh Department Education and Training for the last 19 years.
