Description
It is hard for high school teachers of English to montor individual student progress and maintain motivation across all four language skills in large classrooms. Based on the principles of formative assessment and Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL), this technology fair session showcases a practical and zero-cost workflow which is designed for the Global Success curriculum. This approach offers an immediate and budget-friendly solution for tracking Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing tasks by integrating Google Forms, Google Sheets, and template-based gaming tools. Especially, stationed in the Interactive classroom, students will interactively explore how textbook units are transformed into structured four-skill activities. Students use Google Forms to submit short writing paragraphs, complete reading comprehension checks, input listening answers, and upload spoken sentences using tools of transforrming audio to text and vice versa. The data automatically populates a centralized Google Sheet, providing teachers with a real-time dashboard to check completion rates, spot learning gaps, and track individual progress systematically. The text inputs are then repurposed into interactive games from innovative educator communities for gamified language drills. The demonstration emphasizes pedagogical practicality and classroom reality over complex technical theory. Here, attendees will see genuine samples of comprehensive student tracking sheets and experience the system from both learner and teacher perspectives. Therefore, educators will leave the session with ready-to-use cloud templates and game-setup workflows to confidently manage multi-skill instruction and continuous assessment in their crowded classrooms.
Biography
I am a teacher of English in a high school with over 15 years of experience dedicated to high school education. Passionate about integrating educational technology, I continuously seek practical and zero-cost methods to manage large and mixed-ability classrooms. Recently, my work focuses on developing cloud-based frameworks - utilizing tools like Google Forms and Google Sheets - to streamline formative assessment and monitor student progress across all four language skills. I actively design gamified activities aligned with the Global Success curriculum to boost learner autonomy and engagement. Having previously helped my colleagues with utilizing AI tools and interactive platforms, my biggest wish is to build inclusive and student-centered environments. I firmly believe that thoughtfully applied digital tools can bridge educational gaps, empowering both teachers and students in resource-limited contexts.
