Description
Designing authentic and engaging materials for English language teaching can be time-consuming and challenging, particularly when teachers need to adapt content for different learner needs, proficiency levels, and classroom contexts. This Technology Fair session demonstrates how AI teaching assistants can support educators in creating authentic, contextualized, and pedagogically meaningful learning materials more efficiently. Grounded in practical classroom applications and teacher training experiences, the session explores how artificial intelligence can be used to generate reading texts, discussion prompts, speaking tasks, vocabulary activities, and differentiated learning materials for diverse English language learning environments. Participants will experience live demonstrations of AI-assisted material design workflows and learn practical prompting strategies that support more adaptive and learner-centered teaching practices. The session also highlights important pedagogical considerations related to authenticity, learner engagement, and responsible AI integration in English language education. Through guided hands-on activities, participants will have opportunities to experiment with AI-supported material creation and explore ways to adapt AI-generated content to their own teaching contexts. The session aims to help educators develop practical and sustainable approaches to integrating AI into authentic material design for English language teaching.
