Description
Vietnam’s transition from EFL to ESL requires not only curriculum reform but also sustainable implementation models that promote equal access to quality English learning opportunities. In many school contexts, learners may experience different levels of exposure to English due to variations in teacher availability, instructional quality, learning resources, digital readiness, and local support conditions. This presentation discusses how an online-merge-offline English learning model can contribute to bridging ESL opportunity gaps for learners across diverse educational settings.
The presentation introduces a school-based implementation model that integrates standardized learning materials, structured lesson delivery, technology-supported instruction, teacher training, classroom observation, and continuous academic feedback. It explains how these components can work together to provide more consistent English learning experiences while allowing flexible adaptation to different school contexts. Particular attention is given to how teacher support, quality assurance, and learner engagement can help reduce disparities in classroom implementation and improve access to meaningful listening and speaking practice.
Drawing on practical implementation insights from K–12 English classrooms, the presentation highlights opportunities and challenges in using a sustainable blended learning model to support equity in ESL development. It concludes with implications for schools, program developers, and teacher educators seeking to build inclusive and scalable pathways toward Vietnam’s developing ESL future.
