Vocabulary is essential in learning a new language. It really helps learners to learn grammar as well as understanding contexts in reading, listening and speaking. If they don't understand the meaning of the words in a text, they find it difficult to read and comprehend it. Students of all ages have better reading comprehension when they have a strong vocabulary. Students' comprehension of the material improves with increased word knowledge. Effective vocabulary instruction is crucial, especially for students who learn and think in unique ways. Therefore, if you have a problem teaching vocabulary, this presentation is right for you. In this presentation, you will discover how to teach vocabulary directly using clear definitions, fun exercises, and regular exposure. It includes playing vocabulary games, using visual aids like graphic organizers, and allowing learners to see and use new terms in authentic contexts which are all parts of this technique. Biography
SOK Rem holds a bachelor’s degree majoring in Teaching English as a Foreign Language and a master’s degree of Education in Planning and Management from Build Bright University. With great teaching enthusiasm, he has been an English language teacher for over 10 years. He worked as a project coordinator for the Life and Hope Association (LHA), a non-profit organization, situated in Siem Reap province, Kingdom of Cambodia, for 6 years. He managed a foreign language school which provides English, computer and German classes with abnormal fees to the local learners. Moreover, he is associated with the Teacher Training and Leadership Association (TTLA) in teacher training. About his role, he offers various workshops on English teaching methodologies and strategies to language teachers who are keen on improving and developing their teaching competency. He currently works as a full-time English language teacher for the Australian Centre for Education (ACE), based in Siem Reap. He believes education is the key to success in life.
