Description
Abstract:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly shaping the future of education, particularly in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT). This presentation explores how AI-powered technologies can be utilized to personalize learning experiences, address learners’ individual needs, and promote sustainable, self-directed language development in secondary schools.
The report introduces AI tools such as language learning chatbots, automated writing feedback platforms, and adaptive vocabulary apps. These tools were implemented in a pilot project with Grade 10 students in a Vietnamese high school. The project aimed to provide differentiated learning paths and real-time feedback while reducing teacher workload. Data collected through surveys and performance assessments indicated improved student engagement, more frequent self-practice, and better writing fluency.
This presentation also discusses pedagogical considerations for integrating AI into the curriculum, including ethical concerns, teacher roles, and digital readiness. It concludes that AI-powered technologies, if appropriately guided, can enhance both teaching efficiency and learner autonomy, supporting long-term goals of sustainable and inclusive English language education.
