Description
This paper focuses on effective teaching methods to develop English communication skills among primary school students through active learning and contextual practice. Communication is one of the core skills in language acquisition, especially at the primary level where learners are building foundational language abilities. The paper presents and analyzes several practical strategies such as language games, role-play, storytelling, project-based learning, and the use of interactive technology. A case study conducted at a primary school is introduced, where these techniques were implemented to improve students' speaking and communicative reflexes in Grade 4 and Grade 5. Surveys and classroom observations revealed notable improvements in pronunciation, vocabulary range, and confidence in communication. The study concludes that communicative skill development should be consistently integrated into the curriculum. The role of the teacher is highlighted as a facilitator and motivator in the communicative learning process.
