Description

To Vietnamese learners, learning grammar to achieve grammar accuracy in speaking is rather challenging. The wide adoption of Explicit deductive and Inductive teaching method in grammar teaching raises many concerns on the level of grammatical accuracy in speaking. The study focuses on the perspectives of both teachers and students about Communicative Language Teaching that implements both explicit and implicit instruction in teaching grammar. The result indicates the teacher's favoritism for Explicit Teaching Method while Implicit Approach is somewhat ignored. To students, they are rather engaged in CLT in which they are both implicitly and explicitly facilitated with grammar. The mix method in which both teaching patterns are appropriately put into practice can be suggested as an innovative way to exploit the merits of both 2 methods.
Key words: Communicative Language Teaching, Explicit Inductive Teaching method, Explicit Deductive Teaching Method, Implicit teaching method.
