Description
The RISE Model, developed by Wray (2013), is a model for peer feedback and self-evaluation. This model is widely used in variety of subjects, universities, institutes all over the world. However, the application of this model in Vietnam is limited, especially in English teaching. Employing qualitative case as a research design, this study investigated the perception of EFL teachers in secondary schools in the Mekong Delta in the use of the RISE Model in the teaching practices. The results from the interviews of 6 EFL teacher show that they have positive perception about the applicability of the model in the Vietnamese teaching context. Based on the principle of Rational Choice Theory (RCT) and Ecological System Theory, the reasons why the 6 participants apply this model are mentioned and the study suggest that there should be a linear agreement in the educational ecosystem to apply the model effectively.
