Abstract
The Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach, established prior to the influence of fast-growing Information and Communication Technology (ICT), requires a contemporary re-evaluation of its application in English language education. This study addresses the potential gap between traditional CLT principles and the realities of teaching in an increasingly digital era, specifically within senior high schools in Banjarmasin. Employing a qualitative research design, this investigation will utilize open-ended questionnaires and in-depth interviews to explore English teachers' perceptions and current practices related to CLT. The anticipated findings will shed light on the extent of CLT implementation, challenges encountered by teachers in integrating it with ICT, and their insights on adapting communicative methodologies for technology-enhanced learning environments. Based on these potential findings, this study aims to recommend practical CLT-based learning models that effectively leverage ICT tools and resources. These recommendations will seek to provide guidance for educators in Banjarmasin and beyond on how to integrate communicative language teaching principles with modern technology to enhance English language learning outcomes.
