Description
This workshop investigates the integration of sustainability, technology, innovative language teaching methods, linguistics, and professional development to transform language education. The primary objective is to equip educators with strategies to create eco-friendly, tech-enhanced, and linguistically informed teaching practices that promote cultural and environmental sustainability. Through interactive experiments, participants will engage in hands-on activities, including designing sustainable lesson plans using digital tools (e.g., Quizlet, corpus analysis platforms), simulating task-based and CLIL methods, and drafting professional development plans. These experiments will demonstrate how technology reduces resource use while enhancing accessibility and how linguistic diversity supports cultural sustainability. Expected outcomes include: (1) actionable lesson plans integrating sustainability and technology, (2) corpus-derived teaching materials tailored to specific contexts, (3) personalized professional development roadmaps, and (4) a digital toolkit of open-access resources. By fostering collaboration and reflective practice, the workshop aims to empower educators to implement sustainable, tech-driven language programs that align with global educational goals. This approach ensures equitable, engaging, and environmentally conscious language education, with long-term impacts on teaching efficacy and cultural preservation.
