Description
Pronunciation is a crucial component of spoken English and effective communication, influencing not only clarity but also fluency of learners. However, many students face challenges in mastering accurate pronunciation due to limited access to individualized practice and timely feedback. This study explores the use of Reading Progress in Microsoft Teams in supporting the learning of English pronunciation. Using a mixed-methods design, data were collected through questionnaires and interviews with first-year students of Business English at Department of Foreign Languages, National Economics University. The results show that Reading Progress provides substantial benefits in enhancing learners’ pronunciation skills. Specifically, students demonstrated noticeable improvement in articulating sounds, words, and reading with greater rhythm and fluency. Participants highlighted the convenience of practicing pronunciation independently and receiving immediate, AI-generated feedback, which fostered a sense of motivation, autonomy, and self-awareness in their learning. While some technical and evaluative limitations were noted, they did not significantly hinder the overall effectiveness of the tool. This study supports the integration of Reading Progress as a practical and engaging supplement in pronunciation instruction, emphasizing its potential to personalize learning and empower students to take greater control of their spoken English development.
