Effective professional development (PD) in K12 TESOL contexts necessitates precise, individualized support. This presentation introduces a data-driven methodology leveraging structured observation platforms to enhance teacher growth at a K12 International school in Hanoi. Drawing from comprehensive analysis of observation data stored on the NEE platform (Online Teacher Evaluation System) developed by University of Missouri, the presenters showcase how to identify specific areas for targeted intervention, document teachers' growth and nurture a school-wide culture of data-informed improvement. The discussion will encompass practical recommendations for refining Senior Leader Team observation calibration processes and strategies for cultivating reflective practice, offering tangible takeaways for K12 TESOL leaders and practitioners seeking to optimise professional learning outcomes.
Biography
Dr. Mai Ngoc Khoi is the Head of Research and Development at True North International School, overseeing curriculum development, quality assurance, and teacher professional development initiatives. Ms. Tran Hoang Anh is a lecturer at the University of Languages and International Studies, VNU-Hanoi, and a PhD candidate specializing in the interdisciplinary fields of education, linguistics, and intercultural communication. Together, they have collaborated for three years on a project focused on bridging the gap between teacher training institutions and K-12 educational settings.
