This study examines the integration of story-based learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance English language teaching for non-major students at the Political Academy of the People’s Public Security. The approach employs various AI tools, including HeyGen, Suno, CapCut, ChatGPT, and Grok, to transform curriculum content into interactive video and audio stories tailored to learners’ proficiency levels and interests. HeyGen is used to create engaging video narratives; Suno generates audio stories and songs; CapCut facilitates video editing for customized classroom activities; ChatGPT and Grok assist in content generation and language support. Preliminary findings indicate enhanced student engagement, improved vocabulary acquisition, and better reading comprehension, although the impact on listening skills requires further investigation. Challenges such as teacher training, ensuring the cultural appropriateness of AI-generated content, and limitations in technology access are identified. This research provides a practical framework for educators to incorporate AI-driven multimedia storytelling into language instruction, offering valuable insights for specialized training institutions.
Biography
Lê Tất Thành is currently a lecturer at the Political Academy of the People's Public Security, Vietnam. His research interests include English language teaching, educational technology, and the integration of artificial intelligence in language education. Thanh has participated in various projects focusing on innovative teaching methodologies for non-major students and is particularly interested in exploring the applications of story-based learning combined with AI tools. This study represents his ongoing efforts to enhance language instruction in specialized training institutions.
