In the dynamic field of English language education, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) offers unprecedented opportunities to customize teaching materials, especially through the use of visual aids. This workshop will specifically focus on utilizing AI-powered image generators to augment the visual learning experience, equipping educators with innovative tools to create rich, dynamic educational content tailored to diverse student needs. The session will demonstrate how AI can revolutionize the creation and customization of visual teaching aids, particularly supporting Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) activities. These tools will help spark engagement among students and facilitate effective interaction, thereby reinforcing key language elements in virtual learning environments. We will explore in detail the capabilities of AI technologies, including generating and editing illustrated images and orchestrating interactive activities. Participants will take part in hands-on activities designed to adapt CLT activities, such as information-gap and information-gathering tasks, utilizing Bing AI and ChatGPT 4.0. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to create engaging and customized visual teaching resources that enhance language communication competencies among learners.
